CITY OF BIRMINGHAM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

".......and conducted by Anthony Inglis, they performed a breathtaking rendition of 'Close Encounters of The Third Kind' as well as a rousing '1812 Overture', not forgetting their performance of the Overture from Tannhauser by Wagner".

JOHN EDDEN, MYBRUMTV

ULSTER ORCHESTRA

".......the orchestra, under the baton of Anthony Inglis, launched into Mussorgsky's Night on A Bare Mountain.  This performace was vibrant, powerful, edgy and gritty - absolutely spellbinding"

BOCA RATON PHILHARMONIC SYMPHONIA

"In his Symphonia debut, conductor Inglis continually charmed the crowd with humour and musical comments.  But his excellent direction of a stirring Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture (Tchaikovsky) and what might be the South Florida debut of Aurora by William Lloyd Weber (the late father of Broadway composer Andrew and cellist Julian) earned him the most bragging rights."

- SHARON McDANIEL, PALM BEACH POST

ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
"......Yonty Solomon at his most stylish and scintillating in Rachmaninov's Paganini Variations with the RPO under the gifted Anthony Inglis."
- CHRISTOPHER GRIER, LONDON EVENING STAN1DARD

PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA
"At the Philharmonia Orchestra's concert in the Pavillion much interest centered on the young English conductor, Anthony Inglis..."
"Such disciplined playing also featured in Dvorak's Symphony no.8. In the first movement climaxes were beautifully gauged as were the tempi throughout the work."
".......the players beautifully captured the brilliance of Dvorak's orchestration. Yet even more satisfying was the slow movement, which suggested, by the dramatic rendering, that Mr. Inglis has a future in the opera house."

BOURNEMOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
".......the traditional programme was firmly in place when Anthony Inglis conducted the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at this most British of events".
"The conductor's own Romance for Violin and Orchestra (written to commemorate a failed romance), had a charming melody, beautifully articulated by Jack Maguire"
"......the expertise of the BSO, and the stirring nature of this peculiarly British programme of music that the evening ended with the audience howling for more".
- DAVID ROSS, BOURNEMOUTH EVENING ECHO

WORTHING SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
"The other remarkable feature of the concert was the replacement at short notice....by the young English conductor Anthony Inglis."
".....immediately showed his ability with a deftly pointed and energetic performance of Hadyn's 59th symphony using a chamber-sized WSO. The strings responded especially well, turning in a warm cohesive sound. In contrast, Inglis unleashed the brass of the full-sized orchestra in a splendid reading of the Farewell music from Wagner's Die Walkure. A captivating rendition of Handel's Royal Fireworks Music completed the programme, which as a whole impressed the audience greatly with Inglis' talents."
- MARTYN BECKER, WORTHING HERALD

ULSTER ORCHESTRA
"Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.....What a clever piece this is ......constantly bluffs us all into thinking that this is little more than a bedtime story illustrated by several catchy tunes. Wrong. Under Anthony Inglis's direction, this turned out to be a most compelling tone poem in miniature."

BOURNEMOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
"The BSO's rendition of the first half's music was superb; in particular I doff my cap to the dazzling trumpet soloist Peter Turnbull.........but I reserve my highest praise for the string section and Elgar's Serenade for Strings.....When I heard it shivers of pleasure ran down my neck and spine." Amusing, exhilerating, conductor Anthony Inglis truly excelled himself. I must question whether he can ever top this performance."

MANCHESTER CAMERATA
Anthony Inglis, one of Britian's most popular conductors, made his Bridgewater debut to tremendous acclaim. He provided five-star entertainment with the Camerata in cracking form....Right from the first triumphant notes of the Light Cavalry Overture and Stars and Stripes Forever, the audience knew they were in for a treat......Cappricio Italien provided more sublime moments.....An enchanted evening closed with a wonderfully atmospheric 1812 Overture.....The audience went home ecstatic. The Musicians must have been exhausted!

ROYAL LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
Happily this was not a gala too far...much of the credit for this was due to Anthony Inglis and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra: keen, no doubt, to make a big impression on rival territory. (RLPO debut in Bridgewater Hall, Manchester)
- DAVID HARRISON, MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS

HALLÉ ORCHESTRA
Conductor Anthony Inglis set the tone for the evening with a superb performance of the March Of The Torreadors from Bizet's Carmen. From then on, it was an enthralling two-and-a-half hours, enjoyed not just by the audience but apparently also by the muscians.....This was classical music theatre at its best: streamers and flags for the patriots, romance for the nostalgic, and pure joy for music lovers everywhere.
- NICOLETTE WEBSTER, MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS

MELBOURNE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The audience loved his suggestion (of returning), giving Inglis and the MSO a standing ovation.

MELBOURNE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
But the night belonged to Anthony Inglis, whose showmanship held the event together. His conducting style was quite regular but his quips, between numbers, to the audience significantly enhanced the evening's overall buoyancy.
